Do or Die is pure Andy Sidaris: secret agents, international crime lords, bad decisions, big hair, bigger explosions, and a plot that treats subtlety like something to be shot from a remote-control helicopter. When federal agents Donna and Nicole cross Hawaiian crime boss Kane, he turns revenge into a deadly game, sending six teams of assassins after them across a gauntlet of helicopters, speedboats, dirt bikes, missile launchers, ninja attacks, and 1991 fashion choices. Starring Dona Speir, Roberta Vasquez, Erik Estrada, and Pat Morita in full “what if Mr. Miyagi became a Bond villain?” mode, Do or Die is ridiculous, shameless, and deeply committed to giving the midnight crowd exactly what it came for. As Joe Bob Briggs puts it, the film “combines the best in exploding helicopters, Playboy Playmates, bodybuilders, and . . . gratuitous Pat Morita!”
Trigger warning: gunfire, explosions, assassins, ninjas, nudity, remote-control aircraft violence, and Pat Morita enjoying himself a little too much.
Free and un-ticketed.
