The Square (Ruben Östlund, Sweden 2017)
The curator of an art museum in Stockholm finds his life spinning out of control after he decides to hunt down the thieves who stole his cell phone. Meanwhile, his museum hosts an exhibit about kindness in everyday life in this caustic comedy that won the Palme d’or at the 2017 Cannes Film Festival and cemented Ruben Östlund (Force Majeure, Triangle of Sadness) as one of the great social satirists in contemporary cinema.
“An astonishingly smart film.”
