As part of The Arts Center of Brazos Valley’s 2026 Arts & Culture Festival celebrating India, this special weekend film series brings the spirit of the larger festival to the screen. The Arts Center’s season has featured Indian visual art, textiles, photography, and cultural programming throughout the spring, creating a broader community celebration of one of the world’s richest artistic traditions. This cinematic showcase continues that journey through five landmark and contemporary films spanning nearly eight decades of Indian storytelling.

From the humanist masterpiece Pather Panchali to the dazzling dreamscape of Kalpana, from the beloved global romance Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge to the acclaimed modern works All We Imagine as Light and Cactus Pears, this is a rare chance to experience the sweep, beauty, emotion, and innovation of Indian cinema on the big screen. Whether you are discovering these films for the first time or returning to old favorites, this one-of-a-kind festival offers an unforgettable weekend of music, movement, romance, poetry, and pure movie magic. Don’t miss one of the most distinctive film events of the year.
